Getting Started

Hello and welcome. Below are some initial steps and helpful explainers for getting started with our practice.

1. Complete the appointment request form

You may skip this step if you have already done this. To access the request form, click here or the request appointment button from the homepage to complete some initial basic information to make sure I'm able to offer the treatment you're seeking. Once Dr. McNabb has had a chance to review your completed form, he will reach out to you directly about the next steps, also detailed below.

2. Activate your Osmind portal account

Once Dr. McNabb has registered your information in the EHR, you will receive an email from hello@joinosmind.com inviting you to activate your patient portal account. If you are unable to find the invitation email, you can also complete this step by going to app.osmind.org and clicking on the Activate link. You can access the portal from any desktop browser or download the app to a smartphone via the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.

3. Add a payment card on file in the Osmind app/portal

In order to have a confirmed appointment, you need to have a payment method on file in the Osmind portal. Card details are stored securely by our payment processor Stripe. All major card types are accepted (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), including cards attached to HSA/FSA accounts. You may change or update your payment method at any time, but you do need to keep at least one card on file.

3. Complete the Osmind intake form and eSign clinic policies

You will receive two separate emails. The first has a link to complete the intake form, which asks you about medical history, prior treatment, medications, allergies, etc. The second email has a link for you to view and electronically sign the McNabb Psych clinic policies document, which details the clinical services provided, confidentiality of your private health information, how to contact Dr. McNabb, etc. If you are transferring your care from another health care provider, you are encouraged to complete the release of information form with their name and contact information, which will ensure Dr. McNabb can provide adequate continuity of treatment.

4. Use the Spruce Health app for secure messaging and telehealth

The Spruce app is the communication hub for McNabb Psych and includes secure HIPAA-compliant messaging and serves as the main platform for telehealth video calls. While text message to our office number 843-608-0077 or email may be used to communicate, neither SMS or email are secure forms of communication, so it is recommended to use the Spruce app, especially if sharing any private health information.

*Note: You might notice a message within the Osmind portal/app if you select "Chat with Your Provider" stating "Your provider has disabled secure messaging." This is because, at this time, we are using Spruce as the secure messaging solution for our practice.
